Oh, the smell of the sheets -- unforgettable. Even after she had a dryer she would put the sheets on the line. One of my jobs was hanging out the wash and bringing it in. I have wanted a clothesline for awhile -- now I really want one.violetladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02029256237420904005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31091320.post-5268693711058204002007-07-17T20:32:00.000-04:002007-07-17T20:32:00.000-04:00You have talked me into the clothesline now! We used to live in a subdivision that didn't allow clotheslines, but guess what--my next door neighbor did anyways, and soon everyone was putting them up!(especially the collapsable ones!) The summer after my senior year of high school I lived on a little island where everthing was line dried- the woman who did all the laundry used to hang the wash out according to color so that all the lines formed a lovely rainbow blowing in the sea breeze, it was just perfect. I think someone actually did some very nice watercolors of it, I'll see if I can find them online.Libbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09536095910853911604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31091320.post-88142877863931384632007-07-16T13:16:00.000-04:002007-07-16T13:16:00.000-04:00I'm sure you will love your new dryer. Like I said in an earlier comment, I throw everything in the dryer for 5 minutes, then out on the line it goes! I love doing my sheets and quilt on the line. And I know that my clothes last so much longer because I'm not cooking them in the dryer for 30 minutes! I'm such a line dryer, the I actually have a chain as my line! And think of the money you're saving using nature!! : ) Gotta love it! Good luck, Miss Meg!
VBCarol Duntonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17884281960990842987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31091320.post-17048709750225633912007-07-16T11:56:00.000-04:002007-07-16T11:56:00.000-04:00Hi Meg!My mom slways had clothes drying in the bac...Hi Meg!
My mom slways had clothes drying in the backyard during the summer also summer! I want to get a line also, but I have to be tricky about it..our association does not allow them! Say, what a great way to dry slipcovers! The only things I don't hang on the line are underware and towels. Still want that softness to dry with.~*Marie*~https://www.blogger.com/profile/08537096988809295063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31091320.post-83230477720207562452007-07-16T11:07:00.000-04:002007-07-16T11:07:00.000-04:00Sorry to hear about the dryer, but you will LOVE h...Sorry to hear about the dryer, but you will LOVE having a brand new one!

If you do find an outdoor clothesline, please let me know where and what. I have been looking for one that is not permanent and have had little luck. My mom has one that you put up/take down when you aren't using it but that requires a hole in the ground (hidden among bushes). This may be an option!Marissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15498006741901444489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31091320.post-13762395180963471332007-07-16T10:19:00.000-04:002007-07-16T10:19:00.000-04:00Time was I wouldn't buy anything but GE, but no mo...Time was I wouldn't buy anything but GE, but no more. I refused to buy Kenmore when I found out they contract out for the lowest bidder to make their products. So you actually never know what's under the Kenmore name. It is possible that has changed, I don't really know. These days I stick to Whirlpool or Maytag and both have served us well. Whatever you choose, enjoy your new appliance and may it last for many, many years. xoxoBetty Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09475038702140830260noreply@blogger.com
