about 5 inches

The snow started yesterday evening around 5 p.m. and continued through the night. No school closings today, by the time morning came the streets had been pretty much cleared. The newspaper says we may get more snow tomorrow night. It feels so festive and pretty - the first snowfall, that is. I think everyone's outdoor Christmas decorations look better with snow. Don't you?

Knowing this was coming, yesterday my youngest and I headed to Target to get new snow boots for my oldest. And some new snow pants. When he gets home from school later today we'll be out there. He LOVES the snow! As long as I have enough time to get ready for my book club guests tonight, I'll be happy to be out there with them both.

Wow, if you don't mind me asking, what part of the country are you in?

Don't mind a bit, Roxy! We live just outside of Chicago.

Everything looks so much more Christmasy with snow on it! Good thing we are going to OH in late Dec or we would never see any here...it is still in the 70s here!

I'm just south of Milwaukee, and we got a little over 8 inches in my area! We're supposed to have another 2-4 tomorrow night and a possible wintery mix over the weekend.

Have fun playing in your Winter Wonderland!

We have a good amount too. I just hope it lasts until Christmas. Then it can go away.

Yay for snow! We got a few inches, but none of it stuck to the streets. A perfect snowfall! My sister just moved to Skokie and told me they got at least 7 inches. Winter Wonderland, indeed.

I loved it for Jacks first birthday too! It felt magical to wake up and say its your first birthday and have a pretty special day outside that I would remember-

It does feel like Christmas now!

And am excited for more tonight- hopefully it will come when we are awake to see it!
