early holiday break

It's been a rough couple of days inside the Little Cottage, and so I am taking an early holiday break and closing up blogshop until January. My uncle died suddenly of a heart attack Monday afternoon. My oldest son is struggling a bit in school. I am feeling anxious and overwhelmed.

It's time to slow down, breathe a bit, and just be with my family.

I hope that you and yours have a delightful, healthy, happy, and wonderful holiday. I look forward to reading about your adventures, Santa's generosity, and the stories that unfold over the next couple of weeks.

Blessings to you all.

Merry Christmas!

I'm visiting you for the first time and am sorry to hear of your loss. What a good idea to focus on things close to home for a while. I'm looking forward to checking back in January.

If you want to feel even better about your beautiful gingerbread house, take a look at the ones from my home sometime. Ugh!

Meg...I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your uncle...my prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

You are such a wise young woman...time with family IS the most important thing you can do....like you said, "just slow down and breathe"...I'll be praying for a relaxing time together as family...family time, reflection and slowing down sometimes is the best medicine.

By the way, the ginger bread house is precious...I wish I had done more of those with my kids...

Blessings...

Hi Meg, I am sorry to hear about your uncle's passing. It's never easy to loose a dear one, and this time of year makes it seem even crueler, in sorts. I also am sorry that your son is having a difficult time. That happens with our children sometimes, and I admire you for taking time to focus at home with the issues at hand. Please know that while we are missing you, we are all thinking of you, sending prayers to your home for you and your family....and wishing you joy and peace for the season. We will be here for you when you come back.
Blessings...

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. It sounds like you need to take a breather and rest. Unfortunately, the holiday season doesn't lend itself to that very well...

I hope things turn around for you, and that you get a chance to enjoy the holidays.
Merry Christmas to you and your family,

Realize now that when your heart breaks you have to fight like hell to make sure you are still alive… because you are, and that pain you feel is life. The confusion and fear? That is there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better, and that something is worth fighting for.

Hope you are feeling better these days!
