shoots & ladders

I was just talking to my pal Betsy on the phone. She told me she spotted little shoots coming up in the ground around her house. I told her about these little guys that I spotted the other day next to our chimney. She asked me what they are and I said I don't know. I'm terrible when it comes to gardening. I can never keep plant names and identities straight. Any ideas out there?

Betsy, what do you think?

Could it be daffodils?

I think either daffodils or crocus!

They look to me like jonquils, which is just an early blooming small daffodil.

Tulips maybe?

Sorry but I'm not good either, at such things.

My vote is 99 percent with daffodils.
After the blooms die off, pick off the flowers and let the foliage die down and turn completely yellow before cutting it off.
Year after year, they will multiply...
Good luck with your green thumb!

Thanks, everybody! Daffodils seem like the sure thing here. Kellie, thanks for the tips. I will try my best!
