highrise

As I sit here at work today (39th floor) in my capri jeans* (Lucky's), I wonder...

How long will the low-rise waist thing continue? And, is it really all that flattering?

I don't know, but you are right, it really isn't that flattering.
I try to find somewhere in the middle.

And why isn't there a happy medium between granny/mom jeans and low-rise-danger-of-showing-too-much jeans?

I wear low rise but not so low that my whale tail hangs out when I bend over! So, maybe it is really a midrise. My favorite jeans are a pair of Lucky's!

I love "below the waist". Lucky jeans are my fav - not too low (where your undies show)but not 80's waist high.

Oh I just saw a piece on Rachael Ray about this. As I was mopping the floor I heard them (being Rachael and some fashion expert) that low-rise jeans are on the way out. The new style is the high waist. Just keep it below the belly-button or then it's uncomfortable. Now since I go from rib to hip, literally - high waist jeans don't work for me. I feel like I have on a corset.

Love,
Julie

I heard the same thing... low rise is yesterday's news. I'm glad because I'm tired of seeing teenagers with their underwear sticking out!

I agree with the super low rise that gives you a muffin top! So not attractive! On the other hand, the super high 80's (I always think of Alexis Carrington?!?) not liking that either. I like the middle and I have found that with my favorite style of 7Mankind. I better buy a lifetime supply!

Glad I am not the only one who sits around and thinks these things.

Never been much of a jeans girl myself. I think they rarely flatter anyone - me very much included. Always preferred khakis. : )

I've been seeing a lot of really high-waisted pants at the mall with really large full legs! I like that style better because it hides my thunder thighs!

I'm definately not up for the high rise so I hope that the style doesn't go there. I'm so short and lowrise jeans have been great for me...that is as long as my Hanes don't show! LOL

Well, as much as I'd love to be able to wear the low-rise(well not so low as to show anything!), this 3x csection tummy ain't havin it! I'm short-waisted so some low-rise are fine and hit me below the belly button. But otherwise, I'm like many of the previous posters and wear the mid-rise.

Maybe this is my chance...I've been clinging to my opinion for as long as these jeeans have been on the market.....I am appalled at parents who let their daughters wear these almost "prostitot" jeans...for those of us who are not size 2-4 and have had our three to(?) babies this is one of the scenarios that I am most uncomfortable with when I am out with my DH....I know he loves me and my size 10....BUT my tummy is not that flat and I KNOW grown men cannot help but gaze and lust over these girls flaunting their wares...yes, oh yes even at church...Tell me how can one worship with an almost bare body in the row in front of them?

As mothers ( and I know some of you have the body, too for these jeans)...let's take a stand...
there can be balance right?

It's pretty sad that even at Kohl's a 53 year cannot find jeans that flatter!

Whew...did I say all that?
