300!

This is my 300th post. 300! Wow! That seems like a lot. Especially because my posting has been a little sparse as of late. Well now, what better way to celebrate the big 300 than to show you the large pile of mulch that was sitting on my driveway yesterday?

Good thing this was yesterday. It took my husband several hours to spread it around our garden beds, walkway areas, and trees. But the sun was out and shining and he had no trouble working until late at night.

The reason for spiffy-ing up so early in spring? I'll tell you:

WE'RE MOVING.

Yes, Moving! The Little Cottage is going up on the sale block, hopefully to be snatched up by another cottage lover. We are putting it on the market in a little less than 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed that we find an enthusiastic buyer who loves its charm as much as we do.

The reason for our move? I can tell you that, too.

We have applied and been accepted into the school that we were looking at for my son. It is out of state, so off we go. We don't have anything else set up at this point - house, job - everything is up in the air. But our hearts tell us this is the right move for our son (and us) right now. We're feeling bold and confident, no matter the uncertainty of the situation. But you know how it is with your heart. When you listen carefully, it always leads you in the right direction.

I will be back shortly to show you, or at least talk about, some of our plans and the changes we're making around here before we are For Sale.

Until then, have a wonderful day, and a delightful holiday!

Have you heard about planting the saint in the ground upside down at your house? Hmmm, which saint is it? I will find out, but it brings you luck in selling your house!

What an exciting 300th post!! I'm so glad to hear your son was accepted into the school of your choice. Following our heart (or gut) is ALWAYS the right thing to do when it comes to our kids.

Lots of luck getting your house ready to put on the market and then quickly sold.

I can't wait to hear more if and when you choose to share the details.

Happy Easter to everyone at The Little Cottage.

Best of luck to you!

My aunt and uncle left their home state in the midwest back in the 1950s so that they could have their daughters with special needs attend a special school in California. It worked out very well for all of them, and the school was helpful to my cousins.

I too always enjoy my visits here. Congratulations on 300 posts.

Take care.

Congrats on your decision. I know it wasn't an easy decision to make, but then again, most important and correct decisions require a lot of thought and a lot of commitment.

Good for you and your family!

Here's hoping you find a new home in your new town very soon, because your charming little cottage won't spend a lot of time on the market! ;)

What a brave and wonderful decision you are making! I hope all those other things (job, house, etc.) all fall into place. Your little cottage is so lovely - I doubt it will stay on the market too long.

How on earth did I miss this post?!?!

Congratulations, though belated, are certainly in order! I know it will be a huge change but your new home is bound to be full of love and laughter, just as your cottage always has been.

Good luck!
