poor neglected blog

Hi...I'm back to my old template for awhile. I didn't really like the blue background, or the yellow before that. Overall I'm just not very happy about the look of things on the blog but I'm unable (or unwilling?) to take the time right now to make it look better. I look at your blogs and they are so creative and pretty. Bear with me, I will get there eventually. In the meantime, I've always thought this lighthouse theme was rather soothing.

It's been a challenging week. How was yours?

We've had a big dose of viruses sweeping through the house recently. Thankfully they didn't affect me...but then again, I got something bad as well. Ah, what a pain in the neck. Literally! Seems I've got a couple of vertebrae in my neck out of whack, causing me much discomfort as well as my driving privileges for the time being. Hmph. Here's hoping the little buggers align themselves soon.

And speaking of alignment...I always find that when I start feeling sorry for myself over pesky little problems, something comes along to right my tilted view of the world. Did anyone happen to see this the other day? I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. What a powerful and inspirational message to get going and start living.

Do you ever think...these messages come along and find you, just when you need to hear them the most? I do.

Meg? Are you stalking me? ha ha ha. You're so cute! I didn't think it was weird that you remembered that I wanted to go to the Columbus Anthropologie store. It just shows how observant you are!

I honestly believe that messages come along when they are suppose to... you know... no such thing as a coincidence ? Sometimes they come along, but we are too preoccupied to even see them... I wonder how many I have missed!!?

Enjoy your sweet rain... I miss a good rain shower!

I have just found your blog from a link at Daisy Cottage, and I have to tell you how wonderful it is! I love your style, both in decorating and writing. I hope you don't mind if I add you as a link on my blog? I hope your neck is better by now and your family are over the flu too.

Oh Meg - I'm sobbing right now. Reminds me of a Billy Joel song: Only the Good die young. Thank you for sharing that truly inspirational piece with us. I would never have seen it if it wasn't for you!!

And hey, I like your template. It's the same as mine!!

Love,
Julie

Meg- I do hope your neck pain improves.

I definitely think people and things are brought into our life when we need them.

As hard as this last year has been with my husband being deployed, I know wives who ever see their husbands again. Puts things in perspective when I feel like complaining.

You are allowed to have a bit of a down day. I know that there are people out there that have things worse but there are those who have things better. You have to go through these times to see how good your life is most of the time.
Heck I have thrown myself a number of pitty parties over the last 8 years or so. I was diagnosed with DVT and while it is horrible and painful at time I go on. Each persons level of what they can withstand is different. My sister had Non-Hodgkin's and just celebrated 6 yrs after a bone marrow transplant this past August.

You should not discount your feelings. You have a right to be in the place that you are . Just know that there are better things ahead. That is what helps me.

I hope things get better for you.
We had a lovely day in the Chicago area today (10/27).

So true about messages finding you. A fellow mom sent me the Oprah link and I sat there and bawled. Puts the whoas of baking 6 dozen cupcakes into perspective.
Hope your neck feels better :0)

Hi there- your life is very full and the look of your blog does not matter- we just love your posts and hearing from you- I feel the same way- luck y to even post and rarely able to even
"visit" everyone I want to on their blogs- I dont even have a blog roll and cant figure out how to get my design her gal up on there -

I might do a similar post and find out how to make a banner or whatever.

Next- I am making your ooey gooey butter cake today!

We were all sick with colds this week and I feel achy and know I am out of alignment too- I go to PT once a week and my hips are out again and its not easy when Jack weighs 30 pounds at 10 months.

Hope every one is feeling better.

Am excited for Halloween and I am sure your home is a flurry of plans, costiumes, parades and excitement!

Enjoy and cant wait to see halloween at your little cottage.

You poor pumpkin!

I saw that episode, as well. As did my hubby - who happened to take a day off. Otherwise he never sees Oprah and rolls his eyes when I talk about something I see on the show...well, he was most impressed. I see a renewed spring in his step. It's a good thing to be reminded how fortunate we are and to remember to be grateful, don'tchya think?

Hard to feel that way when you're in pain, though. I hope your pain goes away soon. It's tough to be a happy and patient Mommy when you are in such pain - I've been there.

Feel better :)
