better today

Thanks for those nice messages on my last entry. I know every blogger would agree with me here...comments mean so much! Much more than you can imagine. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for being thoughtful and kind enough to leave me a nice comment to read on a particularly hard day.

Doing fine today and ready for tomorrow, when everything starts - full day and all that. Anxiously awaiting arrival of new Bob the Builder lunch box...ups tracking says it's being delivered today, but where are you, Bob? And the sun is finally out after so many days of doom and gloom. So maybe later on this afternoon we'll sneak in one last trip to the pool. I think we all deserve it!

I was scanning blogs tonight instead of looking through my students papers from today. Its our third day of school and we are all getting to know each other. I teach 2nd grade, after 23 yrs in Spec. Needs. Just love those kiddos.Especially autism. They are my favorite. I went back to read your April blog regarding your son. What a blessing he is to you and what a wonderful MOM and DAD he has to raise in in his world of confusion.
Enjoy his 1st day/week and relish each and every task he completes. These are such wonderful years to experience with him and I know with wonderful parents like you are, he will flourish.
Best of luck this year. Take lots of pic and trust you instincts as a Mom!

I hope you enjoyed a last trip to the pool. He will do so good in school. Like you said, he's worked so hard to get to where he is. My nephew has had similar struggles and is now in first grade with everyone else. It's not easy and it will always be a bit of a struggle, but he's happy to be there.
I hope YOU'RE doing okay.

Why is it the "last" trip to the pool always seems like the best and makes you want it to never end?

So glad the hump of the first school day is over for you. Is that your son's classroom? It looks so organized and inviting. I spied that pretty little blue birdhouse on the shelf. That has to be a good sign. Could his teacher come organize my house in her time off?????
