My name is Erin and I have never posted a comment before (on any blog) but have wanted to share something with you about your blog.

I really just discovered this whole blogging world in early January. I was going thru some hard times in my life, and it was this beautiful wonderful place to escape. Woman who were so talented, beautiful pictures, so many perspectives on everyday ordinary life.

Things kept getting tougher in my life and I found myself getting jealous of you bloggers and your lives ( I felt like a crazy woman. you were written word on a computer but I felt I got these glimpses into picture perfect lives)..You were one of my favorite bloggers (and still are), you posted about such nice things, had a beautiful home, and beautiful family. I also live in the Chicago land area and for some reason keyed in on your blog.

My life was on the break of getting better but I was feeling very sorry for myself. You then posted a post that was so open and so amazing about your son. I cried for 2 hours after reading it. (You are so strong) In that one reading it made me realize how many wonderful things were in my life and everyone has a struggle. It took a woman I didn't even know to make me snap out of my self pity.

I hope I am not coming across as some creep. I just wanted you to know how much you and your words affected my life.

Just a little about me I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, born and raised in Chicago. I am a single mom of one wonderful 16 year old boy (well as wonderful as 16 year olds get or can be). My passions are Belleek china, and old linens, gardening (container gardening as all I have is a deck), and anything floral.

I just want you to know I have you and your family in my daily prayers.

Thank you very much for writing to me, by leaving me this message. I am truly touched to learn that by sharing my experiences, I somehow influenced the lens from which you view your life. That's a powerful idea...and one I would have never known if you hadn't taken the time to tell me.

Life is funny. You mention feeling jealous about seeing the picture perfect lives played out in blogs like mine...I see that too, if I look for it. Much harder is reminding myself to not look at it that way, because it is an illusion. We see what we want to you know. I have to say that this can be an on-going struggle. Fighting to see the reality of things in other people's lives, I mean.

I appreciate you taking the time to let me know that my story brought about a positive change in your life. That means a lot to me because it helps to validate why I chose to share my story and (hopefully) my continued story of our ups and downs over here.

Erin, I know you are not a regular poster, but I also hope to see your name pop up again in my comments section. Maybe you will stop by sometime and tell me more about your wonderful son, as well as your interests and passions. That would be delightful.

Take care, and good luck to you.
