my present

I asked for and (oh so kindly) received a big pink mixer for Christmas. That Santa! He came through for me again. I loved it so much that after opening, I immediately made pancakes for everyone here on Christmas morning. The mixer will have a nice long run here in the LC, I'm sure.

And doesn't it fit in so well? As you can imagine, storage around here is rather limited. So this guy will have a permanent spot out on my counter - err, cart. Right next to the stove, where concoctions requiring mixing action will be assembled.

I took this picture with a gift my husband received this year from my parents, a new camera! We needed one so badly. We've been photographing everything since then. My husband took a lot of pictures on Christmas Eve at his parents' house...and I'm going to post those later so you can see them. I know, I know, Christmas is over. But who gets tired of pictures?

Oh hooray!! You will love this mixer. I have one in navy blue and it sits on my counter, too, and has redefined baking for me. I never knew mixing up a batch of homemade cookies could be so easy!! Isn't it beautiful? And pink, so chic!!

It's good to have you back! I love your pink mixer. I'm not really into baking but I bet I would be if I had one of those.

Gabrielle - thanks for your nice comment! The color in my room is "You are my sunshine" by Benjamin Moore. I know it is tricky to find a yellow color...wishing you luck!

OH YIPEE!! I love your PINK mixer! I got an almond one for myself a few years ago...made the big purchase! It arrived and I came home all excited to open it! But can you beleive that my husband went ahead and opened it before I got home??!!?? I WAS FURIOUS!!! Literally! I had him tape the box back up and I opened it up myself! (I mean, a woman has the right to open up her first Kitchen-Aid mixer, does she not??) He thought it was funny that he had done that. He is now my ex.
Enjoy!!

Happy New Year!

I have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer that was given to me as a gift about 18 years ago. It is still going strong!

We purchased a couple of attachment packages, and the Kitchen Aid has served as a food processor and a dough processor also.

I've used it to make home made pasta, but that really did strain the motor.

The Kitchen Aid is too precious to risk in that manner, at least for me.

If the Kitchen Aid failed, that would qualify as an immediate replacement.

We've always had ours sitting out on the counter, however much or little counterspace we had or have- it continues to be a working fixture.

Congrats on your new acquisition!

Enjoy your mixer! I joke that I had to get married to receive one. I dropped hints like bombshells for years to no avail and just couldn't get myself to cough up the money when I was on my own. These mixers are so functional, and they're made to last several life times. And I love the way the look on the counter.

Love my stand mixer. Hubby does too--he loves to bake cookies. Yes he bakes cookies and doesn't gain an ounce.
I gave one of these to my two sisters and they love them as well.
Enjoy.

I have a yellow one, and it's out on my counter as well. We don't have much storage and frankly, it's too heavy and too frequently used to put away! I did buy a fabric cover for mine because I was constantly dusting it off and cleaning it (mine's near the stove too).
